Lisbon, Portugal to Seoul is an approximately 19-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or do a combination of train and flight. The time zone difference moving from Western European Time to Korea Standard Time is 9 hours. When traveling from Hwaseong in October, plan for a bit warmer days in Busan, with highs around 26°C, while nights are little chillier with lows around 15°C. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Thu): pause for some photo ops at Seokguram, then contemplate the long history of Bulguksa Temple, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park. On your second day here, steep yourself in history at Tongiljeon, see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, then explore the activities along Anapji Pond, and finally steep yourself in history at Cheomseongdae Observatory.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. In October, plan for daily highs up to 23°C, and evening lows to 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Fri) early enough to travel to Jeju.

Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Jeju: Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong & Cheonjiyeon Falls). There's lots more to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, get outside with Hamdeok Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Gwakji Gwamul Beach, and head off the coast to Udo.

Do a combination of train and flight from Gyeongju to Jeju in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of car and ferry. Traveling from Gyeongju in October, Jeju is a bit warmer at night with lows of 23°C. You'll have a few hours on the 17th (Sat) to wrap things up before traveling home.
