One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Cheomseongdae Observatory, Bunhwangsaji (Bunhwangsa Temple Site), Royal Tomb of King Taejong Muyeol, and other attractions. Get in touch with nature at Yeongildae Beach and Gyeongju National Park. Step off the beaten path and head to Royal Tomb of Queen Seondeok and Tongiljeon.

When traveling from Seoul in August, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Gyeongju: temperatures range from 26°C by day to 26°C at night. The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Sat): kick back and relax at Songdo Beach, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggung Temple, and then kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach, head outdoors with Dadaepo Beach, and then examine the collection at Trick Eye Museum.

Drive from Gyeongju to Busan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Gyeongju in August, you will find days in Busan are a bit warmer (36°C), and nights are about the same (27°C). You will have some time to spend on the 12th (Mon) before leaving for Jeju.
