The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Hyeopjae Beach and Spirited Garden. Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seopjikoji, &more). There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Hamdeok Beach, examine the collection at Jejuyo Ceramic Culture Museum, get outside with Gwakji Gwamul Beach, and walk around Hallim Park.

Montreal, Canada to Jeju is an approximately 18.5- hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 14 hours traveling from Montreal to Jeju. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Gwangandaegyo Bridge and Taejongdae. Go for a jaunt from Busan to Geoje to see Oedo Botania about 1h 45 min away. There's much more to do: walk around Dongbaekseom Island, enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, make a trip to Yongdusan Park, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Beomeosa Temple.

Traveling by flight from Jeju to Busan takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight and bus. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Fri): see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, explore the activities along Anapji Pond, then steep yourself in history at Yangdong Folk Village, and finally contemplate the long history of Oksanseowon Confucian Academy. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Seokguram, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bulguksa Temple, then contemplate the long history of Gyeongju Historic Area, and finally steep yourself in history at Cheonmachong Tomb.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Busan in August: highs in Gyeongju hover around 26°C, while lows dip to 26°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 31st (Sat) so you can go by car to Yangyang-gun.
