With the largest international airport on the island, Chitose serves for most visitors as a way in or a way out, rather than a destination in itself.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Muroran Hachimangu Shrine and Old Shimamatsu Communication Station. Visiting Lake Shikotsu and The North Country Golf Club will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Chitose: Obihiro (Tokachi Plaza, Banei Tokachi Obihiro Horse Race Track, &more), Kuriyama Temmangu (in Kuriyama-cho) and Noboribetsu (Oyunuma, Yuzawa Shrine, &more). Next up on the itinerary: buy something for everyone on your list at Chitose Outlet Mall Rera, don't miss a visit to Ningle Terrace, sample the tasty concoctions at Kirin Beer Hokkaido Chitose Factory, and see the interesting displays at Royce' Chocolate World.

If you are flying in from Malaysia, the closest major aiports are New Chitose Airport, Asahikawa Airport and Hakodate Airport. In June, daytime highs in Chitose are 22°C, while nighttime lows are 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
