One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
When in Seoul, make a side trip to see DMZ Haemaru Village in Paju, approximately Paju away. There's much more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Changdeokgung Palace, appreciate the extensive heritage of Cheonggyecheon Stream, learn about all things military at The War Memorial of Korea, and wander the streets of Bukchon Hanok Village.

Hobart, Australia to Seoul is an approximately 17.5- hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or do a combination of bus, flight, and train. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time to Korean Standard Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. In April, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Tue) so you can drive to Chuncheon.

Start off your visit on the 29th (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Cheongpyeongsa, head off the coast to Nami Island, and then examine the collection at Gangwondo Forest Museum.

You can drive from Seoul to Chuncheon in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a subway. In April, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Sokcho.

Explore Gyeongju's surroundings by going to Daegu (Gukchaebosang Memorial Park & Seomun Market), Ulsan (Taehwagang National Garden, Ulsan Theme Botanic Garden, &more) and Gatbawi (in Gyeongsan). Getting from Sokcho to Gyeongju by car takes about 4 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus, flight, and train; or do a combination of bus and flight. May in Gyeongju sees daily highs of 18°C and lows of 18°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Busan.
