The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Get outdoors at Halla Mountain and Sehwa Beach. Head to Dongmun Market and Jeju City Traditional Five Day Marketfor some retail therapy. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Jeju: Seogwipo (Seogwipo Maeil Olleh Market & Sanbanggulsa Temple). The adventure continues: get a taste of life in the country at Sinpung Sincheon Bada Mokjang, examine the collection at Haenyeo Museum, tour the pleasant surroundings at Woljeongri Beach, and look for all kinds of wild species at Roe Deer Observation Center.

Warsaw, Poland to Jeju is an approximately 19-hour combination of train and flight. You can also do a combination of train, flight, and ferry. The time zone difference moving from Central European Time to Korea Standard Time is 8 hours. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Tue) early enough to travel to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Do your shopping at Jagalchi Market and Gukje Market. Take a break from the city and head to Haeundae Beach and Gwangalli Beach. And it doesn't end there: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Beomeosa Temple, enjoy the sand and surf at Songdo Beach, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, and hunt for treasures at Bujeon Market.

Getting from Jeju to Busan by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry and bus. In January in Busan, expect temperatures between 7°C during the day and -3°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Sat) early enough to drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Sun): contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb, then see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bulguksa Temple, and finally steep yourself in history at Royal Tomb of Queen Seondeok. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond, contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond, then steep yourself in history at Cheomseongdae Observatory, then get to know the fascinating history of Tongiljeon, and finally steep yourself in history at Yangdong Folk Village.

Traveling by car from Busan to Gyeongju takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of subway and bus; or take a train. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Busan in January: highs in Gyeongju hover around 1°C, while lows dip to 0°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Mon) early enough to drive to Andong.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Step off the beaten path and head to Gyeongpo Beach and Anmok Beach. Get outdoors at Gangmun Beach and Jumunjin Beach. When in Gangneung, make a side trip to see Naksan Beach in Yangyang-gun, approximately 1h 30 min away. Next up on the itinerary: stroll through Jeongdongjin Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Sacheonjin Beach, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Gangneung Jungang Market.
