Traveling by combination of train and bus from Yokohama to Hakone-machi takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. While traveling from Yokohama, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Hakone-machi, ranging from highs of 24°C to lows of 22°C. On the 14th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Nara.

On the 14th (Mon), examine the collection at Todaiji Temple Cultural Center. Traveling from Hakone-machi in September, things will get a bit warmer in Nara: highs are around 33°C and lows about 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Wed) so you can take a train to Kyoto.
