Have a day of magic on the 9th (Wed) at Tokyo Disneyland. There's much more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Tower, examine the collection at Edo-Tokyo Museum, wander the streets of Odaiba District, and explore the world behind art at Tokyo National Museum.

Once a small fishing town, Yokohama was one of the first ports to welcome foreign trade in the 19th century, after which it grew into Japan's second largest city and a bustling metropolis.
Venture out of the city with trips to Ghibli Museum Mitaka (in Mitaka) and Kōtoku-in (in Kamakura). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Hase-dera Temple, see the interesting displays at Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama, admire the masterpieces at Yokohama Museum of Art, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

Sitting at the foot of Mount Fuji, Hakone-machi has become a popular retreat from Tokyo for locals and tourists alike.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Hakone Shrine. On the 13th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Ashi (Ashinoko), admire the masterpieces at The Hakone Open-Air Museum, and then make a trip to Owaku-dani Valley.

Getting from Yokohama to Hakone-machi by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: do a combination of subway, train, and bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Yokohama in September: highs in Hakone-machi hover around 24°C, while lows dip to 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 14th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Nara.

The country's first established capital, Nara houses some of the most storied buildings and natural attractions in Japan, with eight World Heritage Sites in total.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Mon): examine the collection at Todaiji Temple Cultural Center. On the next day, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hase-dera Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Toshodai-ji Temple, thentake in the spiritual surroundings of Todai-ji Temple, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Nara Park.

Drive from Hakone-machi to Nara in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or do a combination of bus and train. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Hakone-machi in September: high temperatures in Nara hover around 33°C and lows are around 26°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Kyoto.
