The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to UN Memorial Cemetery and Yeojwacheon Stream. The House of Changwon and Namcheon Cathedral of the Holy Cross will appeal to history buffs. Change things up with a short trip to 15 Art Center in Changwon (about 1h 30 min away). The adventure continues: stroll through Songdo Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Busan Al-Fatah Masjid, pause for some serene contemplation at Choryang Catholic Church, and browse the exhibits of Gallery Mare.

Kolkata (Calcutta), India to Busan is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from India Standard Time (IST) to Korea Standard Time (KST), which is usually a 3 hour difference. Traveling from Kolkata (Calcutta) in June, expect Busan to be little chillier, temps between 30°C and 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) so you can drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Get in touch with nature at Gyeongju Bird Park and Anapji Pond. Get some cultural insight at Yangdong Folk Village and Oksan Seowon. Venture out of the city with trips to Jukdo Market (in Pohang) and Ulsan (Seoknamsa Temple & Ulsan Theme Botanic Garden). There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Gyeongju Historic Area, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Girimsa Temple, and see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum.

Traveling by car from Busan to Gyeongju takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of subway and bus; or take a train. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Busan in June: highs in Gyeongju hover around 23°C, while lows dip to 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Wed) so you can go by car to Andong.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Visit Gyeongpo Beach and Gangmun Beach for some beach relaxation. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Naksansa Temple and Mukho Lighthouse Park.
