Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Hiroshima is an approximately 11.5-hour combination of flight and train. You can also do a combination of car and ferry. The time zone difference when traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Hiroshima is 1 hour. Expect a daytime high around 36°C in July, and nighttime lows around 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Sun) early enough to take a train to Himeji.

Change things up with these side-trips from Himeji: Awaga Shrine (in Asago), Mt. Kuma (in Bizen) and Yabu (Tarumino Ozakura & Tendaki Falls). The adventure continues: explore the historical opulence of Himeji Castle, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. You can take a train from Hiroshima to Himeji in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In July, plan for daily highs up to 33°C, and evening lows to 29°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Wed) to allow enough time to take a train to Kyoto.

Traveling by train from Himeji to Kyoto takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Himeji in July, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Kyoto: temperatures range from 37°C by day to 28°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Kanazawa.

You can drive from Kyoto to Kanazawa in 3 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Kyoto in August: highs in Kanazawa hover around 35°C, while lows dip to 27°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sun) so you can catch the train to Tokyo.
