Traveling from Taipei in February, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 20°C in Hualien. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Taitung.

Taitung is known for nature, parks, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: grab your bike and head to Guanshan Bicycle Path, take in the pleasant sights at Cing Cing Grass, step off the mainland to explore Sanxiantai, and contemplate the waterfront views at Jiaming Lake.

Hengchun

Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
On the 2nd (Tue), stroll around Longpan Park, step off the mainland to explore Sand Island (Sa-Dau), then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and finally examine the collection at Taipower. On the next day, explore the striking landscape of Kenting National Park and then don't miss a visit to Feng Chui Sha.

You can drive from Taitung to Hengchun in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In March in Hengchun, expect temperatures between 31°C during the day and 22°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Wed) to allow time to drive to Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung

A small trading town in the 17th century, Kaohsiung now stands as a sprawling metropolis, its harbor representing the largest on the island.
Change things up with these side-trips from Kaohsiung: Liuqiu Dive (in Pingtung City), Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia) (in West Central District) and Xiao Liu Qiu (in Liuqiu).
