Laayoune is the largest city of the disputed territory of Western Sahara currently administered by Morocco. Start off your visit on the 9th (Mon): take in the spiritual surroundings of Laayoune Grand mosque and then get a taste of the local shopping with Centre Artisanal. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral.

For photos, other places to visit, maps, and more tourist information, read our Laayoune vacation planning site .

You can do a combination of flight and taxi from Ad Dakhla to Laayoune in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Ad Dakhla in March, expect nights in Laayoune to be about the same, around 62°F, while days are little chillier, around 62°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 10th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel back home.
