Yakushima Lighthouse (Nagata Lighthouse) and Kusukawa Tenmangu Shrine will appeal to history buffs. Discover out-of-the-way places like Scuba & Snorkeling and Isso Beach. There's still lots to do: appreciate the views at Yoggo Valley, examine the collection at The Yakushima World Heritage Conservation Center, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
You'll get in some beach time at Nagamahama Beach Coast and Painagama Beach. Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse and Yamatoga are good opportunities to explore the local culture.
