The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Visit Hamdeok Beach and Gwakji Gwamul Beach for some beach relaxation. For shopping fun, head to Arario Museum Tapdong Cinema or The Islander. Step out of Jeju to go to Seogwipo and see Seongsan Ilchulbong, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. There's much more to do: stroll through Hyeopjae Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Iho Tewoo Beach, Head underground at Hallim Park, and see the interesting displays at Jeju National Museum.

Midland, USA to Jeju is an approximately 27-hour flight. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time (CST) to Korea Standard Time (KST), which is usually a 15 hour difference. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel to Seoul.

Getting from Jeju to Seoul by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. In July in Seoul, expect temperatures between 85°F during the day and 74°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Fri) early enough to travel to Icheon.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Visit Chuam Beach and Jeongdongjin Beach for some beach relaxation. Get out of town with these interesting Gangneung side-trips: Jeongseon 5-day Market (in Jeongseon-gun), Seoraksan National Park (in Sokcho) and Goseong-gun (Cheonjin Beach & Bongpo Beach). It doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Gangmun Beach and see the interesting displays at Daegwallyeong Museum.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Relax by the water at Yeongildae Beach and Jeongja Beach. Get some cultural insight at Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram. When in Gyeongju, make a side trip to see Seomun Market in Daegu, approximately 1h 05 min away. There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Gyeongju Hyanggyo Confucian School, explore the activities along Anapji Pond, and contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Shop till you drop at Jagalchi Market and Gallery 604. Museum-lovers will get to explore Busan Museum and Shinsegae Gallery. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, take a stroll through Gamcheon Culture Village, get a taste of the local shopping with Shinsegae Dept. Store Centum City, and get great views at Taejongdae.

Traveling by car from Gyeongju to Busan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 84°F in July, and nighttime lows around 73°F. You will leave for home on the 30th (Sat).
