A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
When in Sapporo, make a side trip to see Otaru Canal in Otaru, approximately Otaru away. There's still lots to do: stroll around Odori Park, get engrossed in the history at Historical Village of Hokkaido (Kaitaku-no Mura), wander the streets of Susukino, and don't miss a visit to Sapporo JR Tower Observatory T38.

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: hit the slopes at Shiga Kogen, then stroll through Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, and then stroll through Ichinose Diamond Ski Resort.

The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II. This history, of course, remains important to the city, its inhabitants, and to the wider world, and should not be forgotten.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Tue): take in the spiritual surroundings of Sōfuku-ji Temple, then take in nature's colorful creations at Glover Garden, then walk around Nagasaki Peace Park, and finally take an in-depth tour of Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. On the 23rd (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Inasa and then stroll around Nagao Castle Park.

Traveling by train from Hiroshima to Nagasaki takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or drive. In March in Nagasaki, expect temperatures between 17°C during the day and 8°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Wed) to allow time to fly to Naha.
