Vancouver, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 17 hours traveling from Vancouver to Tokyo. Traveling from Vancouver in September, things will get a bit warmer in Tokyo: highs are around 32°C and lows about 24°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Thu) early enough to catch the train to Nara.
