The center of Japan's pharmaceutical industry, the city of Toyama draws visitors with its scenic surroundings overlooked by the Japan Alps.Get out of town with these interesting Toyama side-trips: Hida (Ryokufu Resort Hida Nagareha & Rail Mountain Bike Gattan Go!!), Kanazawa (Kanazawa Station, Train Wheel of C58 Steam Locomotive No. 140, &more) and Takaoka (Musee Fukuoka Camera Museum, Takaoka Sekino Shrine, &more). There's still lots to do: walk around Fugan Unga Kansui Park, make a trip to Toyama Catholic Church, appreciate the extensive heritage of Yatsuo no Machinami, and steep yourself in history at Toyama Castle.
