Xinbei, also known as New Taipei City, stands as a newly founded part of the wider Taipei metropolitan area, stretching up from the capital to the island's northern coast.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Sat): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Lungshan Temple, make a trip to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, then browse the different shops at Taipei 101, and finally make a trip to Elephant Mountain (aka Nangang District Hiking Trail). On the next day, take in the dramatic natural features at YehLiu Geopark and then hunt for treasures at Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street).

Hanoi, Vietnam to New Taipei is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, bus, and ferry. The time zone changes from Indochina Time to Taipei Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in October, and nighttime lows around 26°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) so you can go by car to Hualien.

You can take a train from Hualien to Taichung in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In October in Taichung, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 24°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
