Experience a combination of traditional and modern Cyprus, including archaeological sites encircled by ancient walls, in the country's capital, Nicosia.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Promenade and Troodos Mountains. Get out of town with these interesting Nicosia side-trips: Agios Ioannis Lambadistis Monastery (in Kalopanagiotis), Panagia (Monastery) of Kykkos (in Pedoulas) and Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis Church (in Kakopetria). The legendary birthplace of the Greek goddess Aphrodite and the capital of western Cyprus, the city of Paphos showcases an abundance of archaeological, architectural, and historical sites.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): make a trip to Saint Paul's Pillar, delve into the distant past at The House of Dionysus, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Panagia Chrysopolitissa Church, then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Agia Kyriaki and post St. Paul, and finally browse the different shops at Kings Avenue Mall. Keep things going the next day: head off-road at local off-road trails.
