Famous for its natural port and Byzantine castle, Kyrenia is not only a lovely old Venetian town, but also the most visited tourist destination in Northern Cyprus.
Get in touch with nature at Kyrenia Harbour and Kyrenia Animal Rescue. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Saint Hilarion Castle and Kyrenia Castle. Take a break from Kyrenia with a short trip to Korineum Golf and Country Club in Esentepe, about 36 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Bellapais Monastery, get engrossed in the history at Ancient Shipwreck Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Church of Antiphonitis, and perfect your strike at Kings Leisure Centre - Ten Pin Bowling.

Sofia, Bulgaria to Kyrenia is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus, train, and ferry. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Sofia in February, with highs in Kyrenia at 20°C and lows at 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Famagusta.

On your second day here, steep yourself in history at Famagusta City Walls, admire the landmark architecture of Monastery of Apostolos Varnavas, then contemplate the long history of Sea Gate, and finally don't miss a visit to St Barnabas Monastery and Icon Museum.
