Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

#1 of 396 in Things to do in Uganda
World heritage site · Nature / Park · Wildlife Area
A World Heritage Site protecting a large proportion of the world's wild mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest represents one of Uganda's oldest rainforests. Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo and nearby neighbor to Rwanda, the park provides a home to a diverse population of plant and animal life, with one of the broadest ranges of vegetation in East Africa. Prepare yourself for a challenge if you go gorilla-tracking--although the sight of an endangered gorilla in its natural habitat will more than reward your efforts. If you're looking for something at a slower pace, the forest's 350 avian species provide ample bird-watching opportunities. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
