One of Ukraine's most extensive exhibitions, National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War memorializes the Soviet Union's battle against Nazi Germany during World War II and displays a host of military artifacts. Visit the museum and explore its more than 300,000 exhibits dispersed throughout cavernous halls. You'll see weapons, documents, personal effects, and a wealth of other items from World War II. The museum's most famous symbol outside is hard to miss: a 62 m (203 ft) titanium "Motherland" statue depicting a woman with a sword and shield.   • This is a great look at the war from an Eastern Europe perspective. The exhibit of widows is especially moving.
  • Lots of information about the most recent attack by Russia in 2014 incl. personal testimonials, which was new to me, and WW2. Interesting monuments too including tanks, cars used in the 2014 conflict and a huge statue. The museum and the area around it are quite large so you'll need 1-2 hours to really take it all in. One downside was that it's far away from he centre so not many cafes/restaurants nearby
