Excellent visitor centre, very informative, lots of interactive displays. The staff and volunteers are helpful. Suggest you go to the visitor centre before going onto the battlefield. Shout out to..... more »
I strongly recommend doing the museum before touring the battlefield. It really gives you a better grasp of what happened and makes the experience so much more atmospheric. more »
I walked it for free but I knew a lot about Culloden already but I would recommend a tour because it would be absolutely extraordinary listening from a Scottish persons point of view of the battle. Interesting little stories you don't know about will be told. It's also an enjoyable walk but it's just crazy to think so many Scots died on the spot you were walking.
Great historical place with a lot of atmosphere. Very educational. We had a beautiful day. The museum and gift shop are nice as well. Inside the shop you will find high quality items like scarves and jewelry, as well as books and some whiskey. The parking outside the main building is free too.
