  • Great little Castle. Well worth a walk around the grounds and back into Doune. If you're very lucky you'll meet the very friendly horses.

  • Visited here on the way to Glencoe, if you are a fan of Outlander it is Castle Leoch and if you are a fan of Game of Thrones it is Winterfell. It was a pity because at the moment you can’t go in as...

  • I was pleasantly surprised that this castle was filmed in the outlander series! I was going to this castle to find out about the Monty python movie the holy grail. Those tidbits were funny and the history of the actual castle was quite interesting. I enjoyed this a lot but i did it in an hour but I didn't shop. Driving there can be a bit tight and parking is limited. When I went the castle was under construction so I couldn't get the full impact of the castle outside in the open fields which I would have loved but I still enjoyed my tour.
  • My wife and I enjoyed a quick stay here. We didn't have enough time for a proper tour, but would love to come back another time. We didn't even know it was Castle Winterfell , cool extra we enjoyed. The grounds are also beautiful, next to a river with green EVERYWHERE. Give yourself at least 2 hours here.
