Glide down the slopes and take in the fantastic fews at one of the oldest continually run ski areas in the United States, Arizona Snowbowl, where a local feel still prevails. Just outside Flagstaff on the San Francisco Peaks, the ski area opened in 1938; today it boasts over 40 runs, six chairlifts, and a terrain park featuring rails, boxes, spines, and other obstacles. Check conditions before booking, as poor snowfall can cause late starts or early closures to the season. The Agassiz chairlift takes you to an elevation of 3,505 m (11,500 ft) to see views of the surrounding areas, including the Grand Canyon 112 km (70 mi) away. Excellent customer service. Even in the midst of madness during Christmas everyone from the boot fitters to the cafeteria staff were exceptional. The mountain was great. Been to lots of resorts all over the country. Fun skiing for sure! My family of 4 including rentals were able to ski for a reasonable price. Could not have been happier.
Great place to ski in Arizona. Lift lines were quick on a Tuesday. Trails were well groomed with only a few icy spots. Staff was friendly and rental process was a breeze.
