Hospital Cave, Cat Ba

A three-story medical safe house carved into the side of a cave, Hospital Cave was once a secret stronghold during the American-Vietnam War. Located in thick foliage nearing the entrance to the national park, the bomb-proof hospital represents an impressive feat of engineering, with a labyrinth of treatment rooms, offices, ammunition rooms, and even a small theater and swimming pool. Amble your way through empty, eery hallways, which served as home to many of the National Liberation Front or Vietcong from the hospital's completion in 1963 until 1975.
