We were met at our Hanoi hotel by tour guide Tom. He briefly explained what was happening, showed us to the bus and then explained in full to the group the itinerary for the next 24 hours; which... more »
The truth About Majestic Cruise their Brochure (Sold us via second party selling us this ‘cruise’) and Reality! PLEASE Be Warned !!! 1.. We arrived in a Chaotic very hot, limited seating outside arena, waiting for this ‘ Majestic Cruise ship’ in the high heat of midday only to find some 45 minutes later, a very old, very dirty and poorly maintained ‘cruise ship’ called ‘Majestic Cruise’? See Attached pictures. 2. Tiny old dirty rooms. Dirty stained Wall paper tacked back on the walls with staples etc. See Attached pictures. 3. No WiFi (as promised) throughout ship, certainly nothing in the cabin rooms. 4. ‘Double bed consisted of two single beds and two single duvet’s put together as one double bed. Dirty old mattresses and pillows etc, etc. See Attached pictures. 5. A ‘tour guide’ that talked through and over you, whose arrogance and indifference was second to none. Barking rude orders then who then tried to befriend other gullible foreign tourists with favouritism over the others for positive feedback about his unprofessional behaviour. We felt Discriminated against who asked us about why we needed a “Double bed” and when explained legally why and because it was on the Requirements we asked for etc. His behaviour became worse towards us and we ended up with the worse Cabin on-board ‘Majestic Cruise’. 6. This so called ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Luxurious’ when in fact it was far from ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Luxurious’ we had little if any Air conditioning in very stuffy humid cabin room. 7. We were informed stated there would be approximately 7 plus persons with us. There were a whole large Vietnamese Group with Children, and others a total of around 30. It was very crowded and very loud indeed. 8. The Total lack of ‘Exclusive’ ‘Luxury’ we were sold meant in actual fact we joined many dozens of other ‘Cruise’ ships tourists full of people onto a tiny ‘beach’ through turnstiles and fencing, monitored by guards. This packed Tourist dumping station was a horrendous place charging for everything they could, dirty filthy water and packed with loud tourists. 9. The ‘tours’ are nothing but excursions away from the ship with hundreds of other tourists packed together in crowds, in tourist ruined places. Totally no “Exclusive tour away from the tourists” as the Brochure shows and what was Miss-sold us. Indeed only two out of Five actually took place and they were far from ‘Exclusive and Luxuries’! 10. The Chow hall “Restaurant” packed with 25 Noisy locals screaming and shouting with each other and others. Neither ‘Exclusive’ Or ‘Luxurious’ or Romantic! Food questionable, small and unattractive! Nothing like the Brochure showed sold us. 11. At night we were supposed to anchor away in a quiet “Exclusive tourist free area”? But in spirit keeping with everything else, we anchored with over 50 other ‘Cruise’ ships with the Loud drunken singing of Karaoke noise echoing across the Ha Long Bay area into the early hours. AgainFar from romantic or “Exclusive” and Quiet ‘Luxury’! 12. Forget sleep with the noise of the above occupants walking around on creaking floorboards and total lack of sound proofing above one’s head and not forgetting the loud Drunken Karaoke noise from dozens of ships echoing across the Bay! 13. ‘Breakfast’ at the crack of Dawn 06.45 am very early or you miss out! 14. No tap or shower water at all in cabin rooms by 9am on the last day (second day). 15. Made to leave the room (Checkout) at 09.45am to wait in the Very Humid air outside the cabin for hours before leaving this ‘Majestic Cruise’ ship! 16. Uncomfortable long packed Bus trip back to Hanoi. The facts are we were clearly Miss-sold through Misleading selling by the pictures and descriptions of their Brochure, pictures attached that were in No way what we faced and experienced when we got there, and had to live with for the whole of our stay.
Very good Halong bay cruise. Hung and Tu were great guides. Food was very good and plentiful.
