Marvel at the thousand-eyed, thousand-armed image of Guan Yin, a 17th-century Hindu-style stone sculpture, at Fine Arts Museum (Bao Tang My Thuat). The country's primary art museum tells a comprehensive story of the fine arts in Vietnam across three levels. Ranging from ancient antiques to modern art and folk paintings, the collection's pieces include early sandstone sculpture and an elegantly carved Buddha image dated 1057. Housed in two 1930s colonial French ministry buildings, the museum gives you insight into the range of Vietnamese art--from prehistoric times to modern patriotic epics and soul-searching abstract compositions. Guided tours are available in English. Has a great collection of art work from few hundred years back until the modern times. Do get to know about Vietnam's struggle for independence before you enter any museum in Vietnam. There is a fine collection of Chinaware and recent art work in the adjoining building. Good place to spend some 2 hours of your day if you are interested in history and art.

Beautiful architecture, easy to go there on a stroll, entry is 30kd, no need to go early, not so many visitors during the day. Painting, the laques in particular, are really worth, with some of the greatest Vietnamese artist of the last century. Also many pieces of art but a lack of information has made that I quickly felt lost and tired. Need something like 2-3 hours to visit. No guide available, no more information neither.
