Create an itinerary including Cafesjian Center for the Arts
Explore a lavishly decorated stairway-building and a museum of art hidden inside the walls at Cafesjian Center for the Arts. The 118 m (387 ft) tall landmark embodies the transition from the Soviet era to democracy: partially completed before the devastating earthquake and breakup of the USSR, the complex was finalized in 2002, marking the country's economic revitalization and opening of cultural borders. As you approach the monumental site, observe the designed fountains, courtyards, and sculptures located on terraces and platforms. The interior contains an intricate network of halls and corridors--all connected to the outdoors via series of escalators. When you reach the top of the stairway, enjoy a panoramic view of the city center and Mount Ararat. • Travel Tip. Take the escalators up, walk the stairs down. Go around 4-5pm and take another stairs to the left in order to reach the highest point for much scenic sunset view. Nothing to say about...

  • There are so many artifacts and sculptures there. I am sure the artists are famous but I personally do not call all of them "art". Say what you want, but I only liked 30% of what I saw. I truly believe there is much more that can be done to improve the experience of a tourist when visiting there. Anyway, if you are a tourist, you'd probably visit there once but not the kind of a place you'd miss to visit for a second time!
  • This Museum also known as the Cafesjian Museum Foundation. It is an art museum and located at the central Kentron District, in and around the Yerevan Cascade which is a complex of massive staircase with fountains, ascending up from the Tamanyan Street gardens and pedestrian zone. This museum offers a wide variety of exhibitions, derived from the Gerard "Cafesjian" collection of contemporary art. Museum has been Opened in November 2009, besides the exhibition of unique works of modern art, the museum offers a diverse program of Lectures, Films, Concerts, and Numerous Educational Initiatives for adults and children. Over one million people have visited the Center annually since its opening. Anyone coming to Yerevan as tourist or for sightseeing, surely plans to visit this beautiful museum.
