  • One of the best mining museums I have ever been to. Well set up with lots of 'hands on' exhibits. Unfortunately, being a former mining site, there are lots of stairs once you leave the main building.
  • Hands down one of my favourite museums to visit. The fact that you can touch the exhibits and experience the history for yourself really is magical. The staff are all very friendly and we all loved the game of trying to spot the various animals around the museum. We've taken our kids to the museum twice now, once as toddlers and once as teenagers and they've loved the experience in different ways both times - that, to me anyway, is a real testament to just how broad an audience this museum appeals to. If you love history, or are just fascinated by items of a bygone era, you cannot go wrong at Beaconsfield.
