  • Came into the bar after 5pm (on a Monday morning less) when their were no other customers and the bartender was understandably packing up. However, when we arrived he reassured us that it was fine...

  • Website and door signage both state opens at 12pm. Planned to have my last meal in Tasmania there and buy some whisky as a memento . I turned up at 1pm and staff were inside but doors and signage closed. Would have been nice to know so I could have planned better.
  • BEYOND disappointed. After travelling along the wet and windy roads of northern Tasmania, we thought we’d make a detour towards Devonport. We’d made this detour based on the fact that Southern Wild Distillery was open- it’s reviews left little to the imagination. We walked to the front, excited to refuel our travel weary bodies with some local Tasmanian gin. Yet we were only met with complete and utter disappointment. ‘Closed’. Now I understand that a business cannot be open 24/7. But to advertise on google and their website, and even the front door next to the closed sign that they were open from 12-6, I was lost for words. I wish I could comment on the quality of the gin, yet I was unable as to get as far. Given this gut wrenching experience, I’ll not be attempting to venture back. I’d recommend visiting Hobart.
