  • Very interesting! Its definitely worth a visit. There are lots and lots of stories to read - but if that’s not your thing you can just admire the amazing level of detail to which they replicated the original hut. The gift shop also has some things that are actually worth buying, for affordable prices.
  • Mawson's Hut Replica museum manages to evoke the spirit and atmosphere of the real site and makes you feel the stark heroism that simply comes with enduring such, at times, savage conditions. It isn't large, but its creatively and sensitively organised and brings together the awe of the endurance of these early Antarctic explorers and a fascination with the technology and precious home comforts - and fellowship - that sustained them.
