Create an itinerary including Lilydale Falls
An excursion to Lilydale Falls is all about the lush fern-filled scenery and the relaxing ambiance. A favorite picnic and camping spot, the falls are easily accessible by people of all ages and fitness levels. Follow a well-maintained, mainly flat track over a wooden bridge and down a staircase to the base of the first waterfall. The second, shorter but wider falls plunge into a large pool just a couple of minutes' walk away. Keep an eye open for the resident platypus. Bring a camera to capture the water meandering its way through large trees and shrubbery. Make Lilydale Falls a part of your Launceston vacation plans using our Launceston itinerary planner.

  • Pretty area, very popular over weekends & just off the main road. Barbecue and picnic facilities, toilets were not working and locked. Relatively easy walk to the Falls, some steps and staircases.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Love that it's dog friendly. Has public toilets and a playground, tables for lunch and plenty of shade. Bins too. The railway bridge is cool, the ferns are massive, the creek sounds amazing as you walk along. The waterfalls themselves are stunning.
  • Great little walk and waterfalls. First one has stairs down to view it and the second is fairly flat and easy. There is a sign near the start saying "hikers only" but unless you have mobility issues or prams it shouldn't be a problem.
