We walked up to the lighthouse as it’s not open every day. Amazing views every where same the buildings aren’t open to the public but interesting all the same

Lighthouse is open for public on Saturday and Sundays and its free entry. Road to top of the light house is a bit steep. Port and surrounding areas can be seen at a higher point. No toilets, no water taps. Place is under CCTV protection. Lighthouse from far is very beautiful looking.

Went around sunset which turned out to be a great time to go. Lots of other people walking and running but still plenty of space. You can sit by the beach or continue along the breakwater then sit at the very end of it. Some of the waves are quite big and it was quite windy, but refreshing and awakening. On the way back the lighthouse light was switched on as it got dark, a bonus when going at sunset. This is one of the main attractions in Newcastle, a simple yet beautiful walk to the sea.
