Went to Britten’s War Requiem last night. It was extraordinary. With the one grating exception of the chorus, who were delivering their performance from behind face masks. The effect was that of listening to a first rate group of musicians singing in a completely different room.

I was aware of the relaxed state of myself and the gentleman I was with. He had his foot lightly tapping on his chair while I closed my eyes and wore tears of appreciation throughout the concert. Extremely well organized with a superb concert. Bravo.
