Rockingham Beach
Picnic or barbecue in the green shady areas of Rockingham Beach, which features clean white sands and warm shallow waters. You can swim, snorkel, and fish, and end your day with a visit to the nearby strip of shops, bars, and restaurants. The area offers tourists from around the world a complete shopping and dining experience within walking distance of the water. The beach is also known for its Catalpa Rescue memorial, designed to commemorate the infamous escape of six Irish Fenian convicts from Fremantle Prison in 1876. The memorial is a statue depicting six wild geese in flight, representing the six escapees, and has been a popular backdrop for tourist photographs since its unveiling in 2005. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was great … such a great relaxing spot. We went on the weekend and again on Monday and it’s just awesome.

Came here to relax/dry off after a dolphin swim and found it to be a wonderful beach. There's a good selection of cafes and restaurants across the road, as well as a children's playground and deck...

Gently shelving sandy beach perfect for children, a pier for fishing or jumping off into deep water and cafes with colourful sun shades make this a really attractive beach. Plenty of sitting areas if you just want to stop and gaze out to sea.

It was quite a nice and very long beach to stroll around. We started around the pier and walked through Churchill Park and back along the beach. The sand was quite fine so it was nice to walk along it. The views of the sea were interesting since it looked like a port area with plenty of large ships and cranes. The beach was quite clean so it was quite pleasant. It was surprising to see a yacht on shore and it looked like it had shipwrecked there. It was something you don't see every day. There were also a few newish looking developments on the edge of the beach to sit and sunbathe or play on the play area on the Boardwalk/Pier side of the beach.
