  • Carefully told history and in great detail, supported by not just the main house but also by the outbuildings. I like the way they have left some sections of walls open to show how they were...

  • Beautifully kept historic site. Such a lovely visit seeing how well this property has been preserved. Mostly accessible by stroller, (except for upstairs main house area) you need larger wheels to get around on the gravel pathways outside. There are toilets on site, by the car park which are spotless. One of the (stable?) buildings is fitted out to hold events.
  • Even a wild windy, wet day in Stanley seemed to only add to the nostalgia of Highfield House. Wonderful snapshot of Tasmanian history. Gorgeous grounds and beautiful historic house. Worth a visit.
