Create an itinerary including The Nut State Reserve
A nature reserve with a view over the sea, The Nut State Reserve is a sparsely populated area where wallabies roam free. A chair lift can take you to the highest lookout point on a giant rock abutting the beach, or you may choose to hike up (with a sturdy pair of hiking boots) to get the perfect panoramic photo. The village below is a quaint place to relax after your day of exploration. Be sure to grab a seat near a window at one of the cafes, because the sunset may be the highlight of your day. • Rode the chairlift up and completed the walk. Fantastic views. Great easy walk. Worth completing. Nice gift shop and cafe at the bottom.

  • Loved the chairlift and the perimeter walk. If you want something a bit less challenging I’d recommending going clockwise as counter clockwise has >100 steps. Other than that look outs and wild life were amazing
  • Stanley the quintessential, off the Beaton track, town you might go to if not just to say ‘I’ve been there’ but to experience old work charm and the views are impressive from The Nut and up where the Stanley Historic House is. Wish we could have stayed a couple of nights we only did a day trip. Would be a perfect place to go to unwind for a time.
