Visit the canopied tomb of Archduke Maximilian III at Dom zu St. Jakob, the 18th-century Baroque cathedral dedicated to the apostle Saint James. Built between 1717 and 1724, the cathedral, with its lavish Baroque interior, is known for the painting Maria Hilf by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Considered one of the most venerated Marian images in the Christendom, it hangs above the main altar of the cathedral. Heavily damaged during World War II, the cathedral was eventually restored and features detailed artwork, sculptures, and a carefully-crafted pipe organ. Be sure to go on a guided tour to learn more about the historical background of the cathedral. A truly memorable and moving experience. A beatiful and ecclesiastical carol service, with a finale of Silent Night. Unforgettable!

Worth a visit for 1 euro donation! The interior is stunning, everything made from rose coloured marble. The ceiling is painted up so intricately, everything looks in perfect condition too. The organ is also really something to see, photos won't do justice

A magnificent church with an amazing roof, made all the better by being able to sit there taking it all in whilst the organ was being played. It got a bit full with tour groups whilst we were in the, but there was the bonus of being able to tune into one of the well-informed guides and hear all about it for free!
