Create an itinerary including Starfish Point
Head down to Starfish Point, a remote beach known for one star resident in particular. The shallow waters by the beach feature numbers of bright orange starfish sunning themselves. Stroll out to see them up close, snapping photos of their brightly colored, iconic shapes against the background of golden sand. Resist the urge to pick them up (though you may see others doing so): the more these fragile, protected creatures get manhandled, the less they'll want to come back. Put Starfish Point and other Rum Point attractions into our Rum Point road trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Fun visit. We were able to kayak there from our condo at rum point. Visited 3 times. Amazing water and even food one day from a restaurant boat.

  • The kids visited us for 1 week but they go 3 times at Starfish Point. They really enjoyed it. It was their prefered place.

  • A wonderful sight to see! Get an up close look at these amazing and fascinating creatures, echinoderms! Whether viewing from above or beneath the surface these incredible stars of the sea with fill you with delight. Also spotted several small jellyfish in these shallows waters so watch closely and don't touch.
  • Great place to view starfish in their natural habitat, but be respectful and do not pull them out of the water. There are two ways to visit here. One is to drive up and park with a short little walk. Other way is to take it part of the stingray tour. We enjoyed time when we drove there and we were not rushed, which unfortunately is the case with the boat tours that only stop for 15 minutes. Also be careful there are jellyfish in the area and multiple people obtained mild jellyfish stings right in front of us.
