  • The mosque is nice. But I have to say that you would enjoy walking around the neighborhood. There are bars, cafés and restaurants around. You can also see interesting other buildings around like...

  • I enjoy visiting mosques, but this really has little to recommend it. It is unusually dark inside. Not particularly interesting.

  • Nestled near the harbor, the mosque stands as a beacon of peace and serenity in the bustling city. Its towering minarets pierce the sky, a constant reminder of the faithful's devotion to their beliefs. As you approach the mosque, the intricate details of the architecture come into view, a testament to the skilled craftsmanship that went into its construction. Upon entering the mosque, you are greeted by a sense of calm and tranquility. The cool air and dim lighting create an atmosphere of peace, inviting visitors to slow down and take a moment to reflect. The hushed whispers of prayers and the occasional rustling of robes create a soothing background noise that adds to the overall aura of the space. The mosque's interior is stunningly beautiful, with intricate patterns and designs adorning every surface. The geometric shapes and intricate calligraphy are mesmerizing, drawing the eye in and inviting contemplation. The mihrab, the niche in the wall indicating the direction of prayer, is a focal point of the space and adds to the overall sense of reverence. As you exit the mosque and make your way back towards the harbor, you can't help but feel a sense of peace and tranquility. The mosque's presence is a reminder that amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there is always a place for reflection and inner peace. Whether you are a person of faith or simply looking for a moment of calm, the mosque near the harbor is a must-visit destination.
  • In a cobbled street running to Kyrenia Harbour, this mosque is named after an Ottoman Governor who donated the land where it's built. It was built in the 1580’s, although some claim it was converted from a Lusignan warehouse. The cut stone rectangular construction has 3 main rooms and a single minaret and is still used today. Southeast of the mosque is the Hasan Kavizade Huseyn Efendi fountain, built in 1841. The northern face has 3 arches, typical of the Ottoman design of the time. In the middle arch there's a marble inscription crescent, a coat of arms and branch figures carved into the stonework.
