See 90 species of mammals, reptiles, and birds at Limassol Zoo. The animals hail from Europe, Africa, Asia, America, and Australia. Nestled in a small subtropical garden at the center of Limassol, the zoo is steps away from the sea and tourist facilities. Completely renovated and reopened in 2012, it features a range of different habitats in a very compact space of 0.6 hectares (1.5 acres). See animals such as monkeys, llamas, meerkat, caimans, kangaroos, frilled dragons, giant turtles, fish, and swans, among others. You can watch animal feedings throughout the day. • The staff doesn’t care about the animals! We noticed that one of the guinea pigs had a plastic wrapped around it’s neck tightly. We let the administrator (which was the only member of staff we could find) now, also by showing this picture and I qoute his words: “It is how it is. The workers know what they are doing.” He didn’t care at all. I am 100% sure he will not do anything to help the guinea pig. Overall, the park is nice. Many different animals. Fun for kids.
  • Great place to take children, lots of space, good equipment to play on. Public toilets and a small cafe. A good chance to take in the small local zoo. Just across the road to the prom and near the beach. Regular bus service stopping just by it
