Ledra Street Crossing Point presents a division of one capital city among two countries. Lined with passport controls, the site provides insight into the turbulent past and present of the region. Featuring Greek-Cypriot streets, people, and culture one side and Turkish-Cypriot markets, beliefs, and lifestyle on the other, the crossing point is a rare place where you can switch between two significantly different worlds in a matter of minutes. If you are going to spend time with the locals, it's best to skip political talk on either side. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Ledra Street Crossing Point by using our Nicosia online tour itinerary builder.

The formalities were a breeze. This was a low season experience, as a single male visitor. I am not opening the political can of worms here

Very simple & easy way of crossing between the Greek side and northern Cyprus(Turkish side) in Nicosia. We just showed our passports at checkposts at both sides(to & from) and did a fantastic day trip to the northern Cyprus with delicious Turkish lunch.

As of May 2022, you only need a passport to cross the Green Line (the rules are changeing quite often). The officers scan your passport at both sides and it’s a very quick process! Keep in mind that you may need to queue for a few minutes when going back to the Greek Cypriot side, but I’d still say that you can cross in a few minutes. Sadly Nicosia remains the last divided capital in the world, but crossing the border into the northern side of the city is a very unique experience, don’t miss it! PS: as the euro is currently way more valuable than the Turkish Lira, you can pay with Euros at most touristy places in North Nicosia (Büyük Han, Restaurants, the market…) at a rate of 1€ = 15₺
