Founded by Cypriot monk and writer Neophytos in 1159, the monastery also includes a church built 200 years later that was dedicated to Virgin Mary. See the cave with Neophytos's cell, his rock-table, stone bed, and his grave. • Very tranquil place - way off the beaten track. Lovely for a gentle stroll and a period of relaxation. Was advised by hotel staff to pay this location a visit and it was well worth it.

  • Only go here for the fresh Shoushouko - that's like nuts strung and dipped into grape juice (secret ingredient - I know most of its contents as Γιαγια use to make it back in the days) multiple times and left to drip dry. They sell other items like honey and coated nuts but was really after one thing. As for the Monastery can't say much!!
  • Always nice salads. Quiet place to have lunch and relax. Some great cake, coffee and apple pie too.
