Create an itinerary including Paphos Harbour Castle
At the edge of Paphos Seafront walkway, the robust, cube-shaped Paphos Harbour Castle served the Byzantine Empire, the Lusignans, the Ottomans, the Greeks, and the English. The medieval castle was rebuilt twice--once after an earthquake in 1222 and again at the end of the 16th century. It also served as a storage area for salt. Enter the castle by crossing an old bridge over a small pond, and then climb the stairs inside to reach the top. From here you'll get some of the best views of the seafront and the Mediterranean Sea. • Worth visiting for the view from the upper part of the castle. It’s very small but at €2.50 it’s fine. It’s also a great way to cool down as the lower floor is an escape from the Cyprus sunshine...

  • Not very big but some interesting information to read and for the few euros it costs, the views from the top are very good!

  • it says castle here but its really a fort - and then again why it should even be called a fort is not quite clear - the only thing worth looking at around this place - if you are wondering around the harbour area and feel you need to get out of the heat a little and not have to sit in a restaurant for it, then you can buy a ticket and get in - nothing much to look at - but it will pass your time for at least 30 minutes or so - a little wind on the top is good - little better views around
  • During Sundown you will face a Spectacular view. Nice free of charge castle with a lot a interesting history. Great to visit. Some nice restaurants on the way to it.
