Create an itinerary including Valley of the Kings
Journey back in time by visiting Valley of the Kings, one of the world's most significant archaeological sites, dating back to the Egyptian New Kingdom. The area contains about 63 tombs and chambers, final resting places of pharaohs and nobles. A handful of tombs, including that of Tutankhamen, have been opened to the public--with its artwork and layout, it remains indicative of ancient Egyptian ingenuity. • You can read about the burial chambers in guide books and watch online videos, but walking into these decorated corridors and rooms is a unique experience. Go as early as possible, as it is crowded.

  • Incredible tombs, came here a few years ago and was unable to take photos so was very pleasantly surprised that you can now. Watch out for 'tomb attendants' trying to pose for photos or take your camera and get photos of you in restricted areas, they're hoping for tips but just be respectful of the history and kindly decline the offer to go where you're clearly not supposed to go.
  • This place is so rich and magnificent, I wish everyone could come see the history that lies beneath the dirt. Such a magical location. I thank God every day for letting come experience this in person.
