Create an itinerary including Bru na Boinne
Older than the Egyptian pyramids, Bru na Boinne serves as the largest Neolithic archeological complex in Europe, designated as a World Heritage Site. Situated around a wide bend of the Boyne River, this 5,000-year-old site includes mounds, chamber tombs, standing stones, and henges, encompassing about 800 hectares (2,000 acres). The site's star attractions are three passage graves built with an impressive knowledge of science and astronomy and containing significant collections of megalithic art. You can access these tombs by guided tour only, available at the visitor center in the nearby town of Donore. The complex receives only 650 people each day, so arrive at the center as early as possible to ensure your place on the tour. • This is a truly incredible experience unlike anything I have seen or done before in terms of the ancient history and mystery of this place.

  • Great tour. The docents were knowledgeable and very engaging and know the history well. Knowth was an exceptional experience. Visitor Centre really well done, efficient, clean and memorable. Tour very good value for money to see such extraordinarily special place.
  • Amazing experience where you can see and touch stone markings made by someone over 5000 years ago. The tour guides are very nice. You get an explanation and a tour inside the tomb (you can't take pictures inside) and then you can explore the outside on your own.
