Experience the natural beauty of Howth Head as you walk on paths through hilly and rugged terrain. The peninsula was originally an island but is now connected to the mainland via a tombolo, or narrow strip of land. Enjoy the picturesque scenery and watch for wildlife that thrives on the seaside cliffs. On a clear day, you can see the Wicklow Mountains and Dublin in the distance. Leave time for a stop at the Baily lighthouse and Howth, a nearby fishing village. • Just a short DART ride from Central Dublin, the sea air, turbulence of the breeze, and a backdrop of the cries of the seabirds following the trawlers provide a refreshingly bracing experience. And...

  • I came here for the first time recently. It’s a beautiful area and I enjoyed climbing down to the beach. The only problem is that it’s impossible to get parking.

  • Gorgeous and clean hike! The views are amazing, and there are a few path options. There’s a small restaurant at the top by the lighthouse. It’s not a difficult hike but takes about an hour or just over if you’re going at a fast pace to get to the top
  • A breath-taking view, I would say It's one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. I did the purple trail and for some reason in the end I walked 12 Km (from the train station back). But the terrain is very flat so you don't feel tired. It is just an amazing hike to do, it's super close to dublin and you can disconnect from the busy city and connect with nature.
