Set in the historical Viking Triangle, Reginald's Tower represents a circular defense tower and the oldest civic building in Ireland. Built in 1003, the tower was originally constructed from wood but later rebuilt with stone in the 13th or 14th century. Explore the building that has been utilized as a mint, a prison, a military storehouse, and wedding venue. Today the site houses the Waterford Viking Museum. During your visit, you will learn about the Vikings' influence on Irish history. Try to spot the cannonball still lodged in the tower wall. • Very informative as the mark of Waterford for the past 1000 years. Nice to explore ancient ruins alongside it's artifacts inside and outside. Unfortunately most of the artifacts were moved to Dublin so it was very empty. Careful of your head when going down the stairs.
  • Fun place!! For some reason, the entry was free! The staff were great fun! I think I was being the goofy American and they laughed. Loved going up the winding stone staircase! I loved the Lego models in the walls!
