Witness the raw beauty of nature at Shirahige Falls, where water graciously cascades down a mossy rock face. Mineral-rich water forms a curtain of whitewash, which falls down the rock face before revealing its cobalt blue color in the river below. Majestic views of the waterfall are completed by the Taisetsu Mountains in the background. If you're a keen photographer, bring an ultra-wide lens to capture both the waterfall and the nearby mountain range in your shots. Beautiful waterfall with the same beautiful blue water as the Blue Pond down the road. You view the waterfall from a very high bridge and while the waterfall itself is lovely, I thought the surrounding view of the mountains and forests was even more beautiful. Worth stopping by for the views if you're in the area! Parking area was a little unclear.

Good place to stop by if you are here for the blue pond, etc. 30 mins walk from the blue pond - or less than 5 mins drive by car. The waterfall was lovely - not too big but strong enough and yet delicate. It also offered a nice view with snowy mountain at the back. You cannot get close to the waterfall - you can see it from the bridge. Pretty empty in end of April, 2021 (though it was weekend). Wish I could see it from different angle too (not only from above but from the riverside, etc.).
