Create an itinerary including Rikugien Garden
Stroll through Rikugien Garden, a peaceful oasis inspired by poetry in the heart of Tokyo. Signage in English explains the connection between the gardens and excerpts of poetry, as you enjoy the scenery of cherry blossoms and the park's small pond. The park really shines during the autumn months, as lights illuminate the red and orange hues of the foliage after dark. You can find amenities throughout the garden, including snack stalls and restrooms. To visit Rikugien Garden on your trip to Tokyo, use our Tokyo trip tool.

  • Right next to Konagome station. Entrance fee is 300 Yen and the park is a nice stroll. Some nice Autumn foliage but not overly spectacular. Good spot for a stroll away from the hustle and bustle.

  • Weather was a bit cloudy today but the landscape is just as beautiful. Would visit again in autumn to see the leaves turn colour. It's a small garden if being compared to Shinjuku Gyoen. There's a also a cozy looking tea shop for tea (matcha) lovers.
  • A beautiful garden located near Komagome Station. It can also be reached by Sugamo Station but is a good 10 -15 minute walk. The entrance is located at the south east corner. Gorgeous landscape with well maintained and manicured trees and plants. I would love to go back in Autumn and Spring to see the different colors. There is a place to buy souvenirs and a few food items. There is also a small tea shop where you can enjoy a cup of matcha while taking in all the beauty.
